The Stretch to Stop Global Pollution

For the third essay I chose to talk about the effects of global pollution found around the world. My main argument for the essay is mainly to talk about how pollution affects people in cities where pollution rates are higher than others. I would also like to talk about, and cross examine the different types of pollution that these major cities are undergoing as well as why. Personally, I believe the large amount of pollution in places such Asian countries and India is directly responsible from overpopulation of the city. Issues such as pollution has been worsening for years and will continue to worsen if things are not done. Studies have shown that the air quality in large cities around the world is almost like breathing in toxins. Particle matter found within air has been related to causes of cancer levels amongst citizens living in areas of PM2.5 or greater. Smog found within cities is due to the overworking of factories as well as people moving through the city giving off emission with their vehicles. This smog is thick and heavy causing major respiratory problems. While in china there are a lot of health issues because of pollution being high the major one that is specific is indeed the smog. Scientists all over have been working on solving this problem for these Asian cities and countries, but there is not really anything that can stop control the issue. Countries like China used to enforce a law amongst the citizens that would limit them to one child per adult. There are a few questions I have about this law, and its affects not so much on the people but their country. While the law was predominant more in the earlier 2000s how does the health of economy compare to then versus now? Did limiting the citizens ability to have children show positive signs of helping the environment even if it was long term, or was it all just a waste of time? I believe this method could actually work with population control without turning to some drastic measure that would injure people. This method is not the most popular and even hated by many people, but I think if there is a positive that could come out of it and none of the citizens could get hurt there might be a way to enforce a law like this to help control pollution. Less people in a given area could mean less waste being produced. Setting a limit to the number of children a person could have could certainly be what it needed to help other countries and it could be as simple as this. For every person that resides in the area of interest or surrounding area would be limited to one child per person, if that person were to have twins, triplets, etc. In the case of triplets those children could count as one child meaning that person still has the ability to have one more. The same rules would apply for adoption. There would be other limitations that would go into the law, but I am just curious on how this would work for a period of time and what the affects would be.
